Austin Graves

Hello, my name is Austin Graves. I am 31 years old and a long-time resident of the city of Deland, FL. I pride myself on service, hard work, and dependability. I have a background in Law Enforcement as well as beverage distribution and most currently, Natural Gas. So, I understand the value of strong customer service, as well as the ability to navigate and manage high-stress and dangerous situations. I am currently the warehouse technician for the Florida Public Utilities, DeBary location. I started with Florida Public Utilities as a Gas Utility Worker in 2022, and I have enjoyed my time with the company thus far. When the Warehouse position opened in 2024, I was interested, and it seemed like a good opportunity to which it has been. During my time in the warehouse, I continued to stay relevant in the field by helping with leak calls, hit lines, locating and other tasks when my primary warehouse duties were done. I was also able to continue collecting my Operator Qualifications and to date hold 42 OQ's. Collectively my time in both positions with the company have given me a good foundation in the Natural Gas industry and I plan to continue growing with Florida Public Utilities. After careful thought and consideration, I realize that my skill set is better suited for a field position, and I believe I am more of an asset to the company as Gas Utility Worker/Technician. I am applying for the Gas Utility Worker position with the intent to continue being a dependable and well-rounded employee who can fill in in multiple areas of Operations and continue progressing at the discretion of my management team and supervisors.
