Work History

Certified Driver Trainer

Bulk Transport Company - East
02.2020 - Current
  • Primary responsibilities include operating a tractor trailer within the guidelines of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). I conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of my assigned commercial vehicle. I receive instructions from my driver manager, and pick up and deliver loads on time, safely, and legally.

  • I've operated numerous tractors from Freightliner, Volvo, Mack, and International. My current vehicle is a 2024 Freightliner in a day cab configuration. My trailers are primarily bulk pneumatic tankers (40' or 48' depending on the day) that operate on a blower attached the the truck's PTO. I also pull "belly dump" trailers. I haul various products from cement, fly ash, lime, carbon, and more. I have experience at manufacturing plants, construction sites, water treatment plants, nuclear power plants, and many other safety sensitive locations.

  • I interact face-to-face with shippers and customers daily. I provide an extra line of communication to management, and maintain positive and friendly relationships with my customers to ensure job security for myself and our other drivers.

  • All new hires employed by our Fenton location must be evaluated by me. I train them in all pertinent procedures relevant to the position, including but not limited to: loading, unloading, electronic log proficiency, safe driving conduct, communication with dispatch, vehicle inspections, DVIRs for maintenance, and nurturing problem solving skills.

  • I fill out training forms for all new employees, evaluating their skills in operating their commercial vehicle safely and in accordance with federal and state laws. No employee can be assigned to their own truck without my signature. I try to maintain a positive and constructive relationship with the drivers that train with me, and offer advice and assistance even when they're on their own.

  • I maintain open dialogues between operations, the safety team, the driver manager, and other drivers in an effort to prevent lapses in communication and make sure that everyone is on the same page about important issues such as shipper/customer requests, maintenance, traffic/weather delays, and driver concerns.

Truck Driver

Transport Corporation of America
07.2018 - 02.2020
  • Operated commercial vehicles over long distances to ensure timely delivery of goods, mainly between Interstate 35 and New York. There were occasional loads going to southern California.
  • Conducted thorough vehicle inspections and performed routine maintenance to uphold safety standards
  • Maintained accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and cargo transported for compliance purposes under FMCSA guidelines
  • Equipment included a Freightliner sleeper cab, 53' dry van trailers, rollerbed van trailers, and heated van trailers
  • I ended employment on positive terms. It was just difficult to commute between Kansas City and St. Louis in my personal vehicle once or twice per month, and I wanted to be home more often
  • This company is now known as TA Dedicated, a subsidiary of TFI International, and I still work with some colleagues at BTC

Truck Driver

CR England - Global Transportation
01.2018 - 05.2018
  • CR England used their training program to help me get my Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • I operated a Freighliner sleeper cab with 53' refrigerated trailers as part of a team driving duo, working with another employee taking turns behind the wheel to deliver loads quicker than a solo driver
  • Maintained accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and cargo transported for compliance purposes using Qualcomm electronic log devices
  • My dispatcher was verbally abusive, and I was not treated with professional courtesy or respect. I did not leave on positive terms, as this job was unsafe, and I needed to remove myself from the situation quickly. I was frequently demanded to operate in unsafe conditions, and I was berated for mistakes that I did not make.
