Electro-Mechanical Technician

  • Responsible for the safety and reliable function of all attractions across all of Volcano bay, Islands of Adventure and both Harry Potter Worlds.
  • Completes all scheduled PMs and repairs to ensure the safe operation of all rides and minimize attraction downtimes
  • Preformed troubleshooting techniques to identify and implement repair solutions on ride components such as PVC plumbing, motor VFDs, water pumps, low/high voltage control components, complex pneumatic and hydraulic systems, A/V systems, PLC components as well as logging into the PLC to identify issues
  • Experience with many different types of complex ride and control systems such as water slides, roller coasters, simulators, dark rides, LSM/LIM launches and 6DOF motion bases.
  • Completes all necessary documents and work orders passing information and completion statuses along to next shift leads and management

Project Lead Mechanic/Show Control

  • Hand picked from the Universal Parks to join in the beginning stages of ride manufacturing and construction by being sent to Germany multiple times for extended periods to aid in assembly and FAT testing of equipment and ride vehicles.
  • Responsible for all electrical installation of the ride components from ground breaking point including all 480V track bus bars, track switch controls, MCC and SSC cabinets, multiple control consoles, animatronics and networking
  • Performed extensive mechanical and electrical repairs and modifications on ride vehicles per manufacturer specifications dealing with multiple different systems such as 6DOF hydraulics, pneumatic effects, VFD and motor configurations, PLC logic and wireless communications.
  • Performed all SAT testing for track, vehicle, and animation needed to ensure the safe function of the ride as we get ready to allow guests on it.
  • Managed and trained a crew of technicians how to operate, recover and repair all aspects of the attraction
  • Wrote maintenance manuals explaining in detail how ride components work mechanically and electrically for technician's better understanding and repairs
