As a dedicated participant in the rigorous International Baccalaureate Program for three years, I aspire to attend a large public college that will challenge my intellectual abilities while offering a dynamic and stimulating environment. My academic goals include earning degrees in political science and business, which I envision as pivotal stepping stones toward advancing my career in law.
I authored and negotiated a bill that I aspired to see enacted in the Florida legislature. I also engaged in debates over the constitutionality of various court cases, participated in mock elections, and collaborated with young women from across the state.
I sought to bring similar opportunities to my school to benefit our students. I founded a club designed to support students who might be hesitant to put themselves forward, aiming to create a supportive environment where they could develop essential skills for the future workforce.
I felt compelled to take the initiative and lead my swim team in volunteering for the Special Olympics. My goal was to support these incredible athletes in excelling in their sport. Throughout our involvement, I had the privilege of timing their events, distributing medals, and assisting in guiding the athletes to the starting blocks, ensuring they had a smooth and encouraging experience.
I offered free swimming lessons to the youth of our county. My focus was not only on teaching them how to swim but also on how to navigate a pool safely. This initiative significantly contributed to reducing the number of child deaths by decreasing the incidence of drowning.
I was elected as Treasurer, where I spearheaded fundraising events aimed at supporting community members affected by cancer. I organized a sock drive, coordinated a 5k run in honor of a student battling cancer, and promoted our club through the creation and sale of a t-shirt, with all proceeds donated to a teacher’s GoFundMe campaign for cancer treatments.
I have been instrumental in fostering a community for students who share similar values and a passion for sports. Since joining the club in 2022 and serving as Vice President for the past two years, this role allowed me to facilitate peer connections, helping them form lifelong friendships. As Vice President, I initiated the annual school Toy Drive to support low-income families. I launched the Homeless Veterans Thanksgiving Food Drive, which provides week-long meals to veterans struggling with necessities.
I had the opportunity to coach and mentor swimmers new to the sport, guiding them through the fundamentals necessary for their success. I also took on key responsibilities, including organizing the 2023 Senior Year Banquet and making executive decisions on preparing our pool to host the 2023 District Meet. Additionally, I collaborated with parents to determine effective strategies for fundraising, aimed at acquiring new equipment for the team. This role allowed me to contribute significantly to both the athletic and administrative aspects of our swim program.
