• Shadowed an experienced RN in a high-acuity pediatric setting, gaining exposure to critical care practices and pediatric-specific nursing interventions.

Pediatric Emergency Department: 8.5 hours

• Shadowed and collaborated with pediatric emergency nurses to observe best practices in rapid assessments and patient stabilization.
• Observed and supported the delivery of age-appropriate care, adapting communication and comfort techniques for children and families.

Pediatric Med Surg: 8.5 hours

• Supported RNs in monitoring vital signs, intake/output, and pain levels, recognizing age-specific norms and red flags.
• Learned safe medication administration principles for pediatric patients, including weight-based dosing and double-check procedures.
• Assisted with basic patient care activities such as hygiene, feeding, mobility support, and comfort measures.

• Departments floated to: NICU, Mother Baby, SICU and MICU, ER, Orthopedics, Progressive Care, Oncology, Med/Surg, and Rehab
• Monitors patient vital signs and reports changes to the nursing team.
