Gene's Dairy Delight is locally owned and is seasonally open from March to September. I have been working at Gene's for the last three years. As a server, I have learned more about reliability, accountability and responsibility. I deal with costumer service daily, cleanliness and inventory. An example of inventory would be novelty bars and how many we have and how many we need, if we need more, me and my coworkers make them. An example of cleanliness would be a checklist of every space we need to clean for that day.
Butter Twice and Again is a locally owned Thrift Boutique shop. I worked there for almost a year and learned a lot about budgeting and how to store and inventory clothing. I worked with customers and answered any questions they had while also maintaining a clean environment. I had the responsibility of opening the shop when scheduled and had to be on time and reliable for my employer and other coworkers.
During my time in high school Drama Club I learned how to stage manage. During my 2 and half years of stage managing, I have learned that paper work, organization, and collaboration is critical. Knowing everyone's schedule, when monthly meetings are and most importantly when rehearsal and performances are. Stage managers manage other departments as well, such as, costumes, props, scene design and lights. They are responsible for keeping people updated and on the same page, so there is no miscommunication. Stage management comes with a lot of collaboration with students and faculty to ensure everyone knows what they are doing and where.
