I have been passionate about getting a job since middle school. All teenagers should have a job at a certain point, but it isn’t just the need, but the want to work. I want to feel that sense of growing up and take ownership of my responsibilities. I am absolutely ready to take on any job that I may have and my previous experiences prove that I will be able to handle that. I am a very determined individual and I have it all planned out. I hope you know that I promise to be an impeccable asset overall.
I enjoy figure skating on the side of all of my other sports. Figure skating is an extremely difficult sport, where it is constant trial and error. Skating is a passion of mine, I have recently discovered and it provides me a bit of a challenge.
I began playing volleyball in eighth grade and have been playing ever since. Volleyball has taught me to stay determined, persistent, and aware. The volleyball program at HFL is very demanding and can be extremely strict at times. However, it constantly helps learn how to work under immense pressure.
I have played travel softball for four years now. However, I have been on my current team for two years. I feel very blessed that I have been given the opportunity to play on a travel team and show off my skill in the sport. It is not always easy to get along with my teammates, but I have developed an aspect of teamwork, leadership qualities, and learning to be respectful when it’s not always easy too. I am very passionate in the sports I play.
I have done the Special Olympics two separate years with different travel teams. My team and I are assigned a station where we give the contenders a certain score and we are expected to run that station for a number of hours. At the end of the day we announce the awards. It is such an amazing thing to see how excited the contenders get and is seriously so awarding.
I have been playing softball since kindergarten, so I have been playing school ball for quite some time now.
Our school has allowed us to create a bible study group, where we are able to express our thoughts and experiences through God. Although I fail to come to every session, when free time away from sports presents itself, I often enjoy attending. Building a closer relationship with God and being able to discuss it with my classmates has proven to be something that is very special to me.
The Big-Little Program requires me to meet with an elementary school student who may be struggling in school once a week. I sign her out of her classroom for an hour at the end of the day and we color and play a variety of different games provided, where she is able to confide in me if she wants to. I have built such a special bond with my little that I will cherish forever, I plan on participating next school year as well.
