Scheduler of new, established and referral patient's for the cardiology department. the cardiology department is sectioned into multiple specialty clinics. the clinics I assisted with was the Preventive Cardiology clinic, Women's Heart clinic, Sports Cardiology clinic, International Cardiology clinic, Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) clinic and Lipid/Hypercholesterolemia/Statin Intolerance clinic.

Multi tasking skills are a crucial necessity within this role. Answering incoming calls from patients and coordinating their upcoming appointment schedule, along with pulling medical records both with Mayo Clinic's epic system and CareEverywhere for outside facility records. Occasional instances occurred where patient's and insurance companies would call in needing to obtain CPT billing codes of ordered testing and provider licensing codes to determine if the patient's insurance coverage was within network.

Echocardiogram Appointment Specialist. Worked exclusively with the lead technologist of the department on the long lasting waitlist of patient's whom have been referred to complete an ultrasound of their heart structure(s) by their healthcare physician. Actively taking calls from the office of the referring provider and assisting them with adding patient the waitlisted during the timeframe this test is needing to be completed. The usage of critical thinking, medical terminology and anatomy & physiology skills was implemented to determine the urgency of each patient based on the symptom/diagnosis and the next steps in the patient's care plan the results of the echocardiogram will be used to determine.
