A recent Emory graduate who has always wanted to help children through teaching or social work. Even though there is limited experience in the classroom, has many experiences working with children of all ages.

Peer Mentor:

• Peer mentor for the sociology department, meaning that I was select group of senior sociology majors serve as peer mentors to those interested in majoring or minoring in sociology, as well as to those who are new to the sociology major / minor.

• Selected from approximately 12,000 applicants nationwide to join a national teacher corps of recent college graduates and professionals who commit to teach in under-resourced public schools.
• Participate in an intensive summer training program to develop the skills and knowledge needed to lead rigorous, supportive, and inclusive classrooms, including instructional design, trauma-informed practice, social-emotional learning, and supervised summer school teaching in New York public schools. Engage in professional development, including DEI seminars, discussion groups, coaching sessions, and content-specific learning.

• During in person recruitment I would play music that everyone loved, brought candies, and brought fidget toys for sisters to use throughout the week
