Shadowed a foot and ankle specialist at a private practice and stood in to watch a variety of surgeries including flat foot reconstruction, ankle fusion, and plant fasciitis surgery. 

2. Clinical Pharmacist - January 2024 

Shadowed a clinical pharmacist at Kaiser Permanente and observed their responsibilities in outpatient settings including medication therapy management, discussing drug interactions, dosage adjustments, and lab results.

3. Kaiser Lab - January 2024

Observed laboratory workflows supporting patient diagnostics, including specimen collection, processing, and analysis. Gained exposure to various diagnostic tools such as blood tests, urinalysis, and microbiological cultures. Learned about quality control procedures, lab safety protocols, and the importance of accuracy and timeliness in clinical testing.

4  Internal Medicine - February 2023  

Shadowed an internal medicine doctor at a private practice observing the evaluation and management of adult patients with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and autoimmune disorders.

5. Pediatrics - August 2023 

Shadowed a pediatrician at Sutter observing the diagnosis, treatment, and preventative care of children and adolescents in both well-child visits and acute care settings. Witnessed the management of common childhood conditions and chronic illnesses, as well as the importance of building trust with families.

6. OBGYN - December 2023

Shadowed an OBGYN at UC Davis observing a wide range of obstetric and gynecologic care including prenatal visits, pelvic exams, ultrasound interpretation, and labor and delivery support. Witnessed patient-provider interactions involving reproductive health counseling, contraceptive management, and prenatal education.

7. Dentistry - February 2023, July 2023

Gained exposure to routine and specialized dental procedures including cleanings, fillings, crowns, and root canals. Observed patient evaluations, diagnostic imaging, and treatment planning for both preventive and restorative care.
