- I began working as a part-time cashier at PetSmart in July of 2021 as a full-time college student at OU. In 2022, I received a promotion to Associate Lead and later that year I received another promotion to my current position, Merchandise and Inventory Leader (MIL). One of the things I value most is being a team player stepping in wherever needed, as long as you're available, and learning new things to better the team.
- As MIL, I am responsible for ensuring inventory counts are correct
- I have to conduct weekly reports on our merchandise, excluding live animals, to ensure accuracy
- We get trucks in twice a week and I am in charge of making sure they get done on time, as well as unloading and inspecting those loads
- Delegating tasks to the proper employee to get POGs, planner, and trucks done, as well as keep the store and backroom up to standards
- Part of my job is to be a salesperson for our other departments (salon and training), as well as promoting company-related things (Treats, in-store sales items, meeting quotas, conversions, etc.)
- I schedule training classes and grooming appointments
- I have experience with Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office, and other company applications
- Since I am one of the managers, I take phone calls and deal with unhappy customers, and work to resolve their issues
- Since I came in as a cashier, I understand the importance of maintaining a good relationship with all associates and ensuring they are heard
