My name is Ayana Feggins, and I am a dedicated and hardworking professional who always strives to bring a positive energy to every room I enter. Punctuality is key for me, and I pride myself on being someone my peers can rely on in any situation. Whether it’s assisting with inventory or supporting the team in other ways, I am always ready to step up and contribute. I take great pride in my work, and my actions consistently reflect my commitment to delivering high-quality results. My passion is patient care!!
At PM Pediatrics, I was responsible for opening and closing the clinic, ensuring a smooth and efficient start to each day. I arrived 15 minutes early to complete both daily and weekly checklists, which included checking the temperatures of our lab freezers and stocking the clinic to ensure all necessary supplies were on hand.
In addition to my administrative duties, I played a key role in patient care. I was responsible for bringing patients back to the exam rooms, performing intake assessments, taking vitals, and gathering essential information such as the chief complaint, family and medical history, and allergies. I also administered medications, conducted tests, and listened carefully to patients' concerns, ensuring that all relevant information was relayed to the provider for further evaluation.
As a Certified Medication Technician, my primary responsibility was administering medications accurately and ensuring that both patients and I were fully informed about the medications being prescribed. I took the time to explain potential side effects and the purpose of each medication, helping patients feel more confident and informed about their treatment. Punctuality was key, as many medications needed to be taken at specific times, and I made sure to adhere to schedules with precision.
In addition to my medication duties, I also provided assistance with women’s health care needs for female patients/residents, offering support when necessary.
At Priority Urgent Care, I worked as a Medical Assistant in a primarily adult setting, where I gained diverse experience across various areas of patient care. I assisted with women’s health services, administered vaccinations, and provided support during procedures such as sutures. I also helped with x-ray assistance when needed. My role required flexibility, as I had the opportunity to work at multiple locations, further enhancing my ability to adapt to different environments and patient needs.
Working at Brightview was a pivotal experience that helped me discover my passion for the medical field. At the time, I was still exploring different career paths, and my role there allowed me to gain valuable experience while balancing personal responsibilities, such as caring for my grandmother who was battling breast cancer.
At Brightview, I provided care for elderly patients, which included administering medications, assisting with daily activities like bathing, feeding, and changing, and offering overall support for their well-being. The skills I developed in this environment, particularly in multitasking and patient care, were instrumental in my growth as a Medication Technician and Medical Assistant. This experience gave me the foundation I needed to manage multiple responsibilities effectively while maintaining a high level of compassion and attention to detail.
