  • Manage our Social Studies Budget and allocate funds to each campus based on student enrollment and campus needs. Also, use the budget to operate our department and districtwide activities.

  • Stay informed of the new requirements and state assessment updates regarding Social Studies and Special Populations.

  • Under my leadership, we were able to get a Civics Grant which we called Historias Americanas Project where ECISD and UTRGV worked together providing learning opportunities to our Social Studies Teachers by teaching them about our RGV History.
  • Also, we partnered with the Museum of South Texas to learn about the History of one of our one community members Freddy Gonzalez. Our RLA and Social Studies Teachers were exposed to more than 500 letters that Ms. Dolia Gonzalez donated to the museum.
