I have worked various jobs, all of which I'm appreciative of and left on good terms. Now, I am truly looking for a career to hang my hat on, and be able to appreciate while providing for myself. I truly pride myself on honesty, accountability, being on time, being professional and being personable (trying my best to be kind, respectful, patient, creating a good work environment).
In IT, for years, I have had the career in my mind - training with one of my referrals in order to gain more knowledge of the field, and spending years of my personal time troubleshooting, understanding the operation of software(s) and hardware(s), and understanding/operating: active directory, Microsoft Office, C: drives & D: drives, Command Prompt, Task Manager, servers & domains, even use of various creative softwares like Sony Vegas Pro, paint.net - similar to Photoshop, etc.
As an appliance repair technician, I was responsible for handling a route each workday which consisted of a handful of repair/install jobs. I had my own company truck to manage, the responsibility of being on time each call, being professional as a representative of the company, and most importantly comforting customers while repairing their appliance issues. The appliances we worked on included: washers, dryers, refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, microwaves, and various other combinations. As a technician, thanks to my years of training under my twenty-year experience boss/senior tech, I had a general knowledge of the theory of operation regarding each appliance & how to properly teardown, diagnose, test, and/or repair the appliance & its various components. Communication was a large part of my job, and personally I focused on trying my best to be professional & communicate properly, even at times despite high-stress circumstances, in order to best do my job. I also called customers, scheduled calls, estimated costs for repairs, and managed inventory.
As a sales representative for an independant window blinds company that sold their products through various COSTCO's around New Jersey, I was entirely entrusted by my employer to be on time, set up the kiosk in the store, and for 11 hours each day, interact with customers & try to sell to them. Again, I was entirely entrusted to do so without any direct supervision, thanks to my trusting boss. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and the difficulties in finding work, I was able to manage driving to six different locations, sometimes hours away, and consistently selling the brand to customers.
As a patient access representative, I managed the front desk and main desk(s) of the Lakewood MMCSC Emergency Room. There, I secured patient information and confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA privacy rule standards to protect patient's privacy. I also collected and entered patient demographic and insurance data into computer database to establish patient's medical record. Many times this required me to stay calm under high-pressure situations regarding patients in great need, in order to successfully deal with difficult situations that were mandatory for the smooth operation of the emergency room. This also included identifying and labeling patients despite doctors and nurses rushing back and forth, properly identifying their insurance(s) despite limited time and/or escalated patients, and even speaking to next of kin(s). Also, I obtained patient's insurance information and determined eligibility for benefits for specific services rendered.
below, are some of the skills I've acquired with my outside-of-work training and knowledge gained operating hardware and software for years:
(1) I have done volunteer work for 840 hours a year (70 hours a month), for multiple years, spending mornings & afternoons talking to strangers door-to-door, sharing positive information with them
(2) I have been directly trained, along with my prior-understanding of Audio/Video (A/V) operating, to properly run the audio and video of a congregation meeting that includes music, videos being actively played & broadcasted, operation of sound system(s), operations of multiple software(s) and working together as a cooperative team to properly run a meeting. I'm well trained in operating Zoom, recording softwares, streaming softwares, broadcasting softwares, video-rendering sofwares, file-editing/changing softwares, as well as external devices including printers, USB's, hard drives, etc.
Sometimes this included troubleshooting on the spot, training others how to troubleshoot/operate a meeting successfully, as well as even stemming into assisting elderly ones on using their tablets/phones, downloading software, operating printers, or teaching them how to operate software and hardware.
