I am contacting you to express my interest in the Clinical Nurse Transition in Practice - Labor and Delivery Program opportunity with Sharp Grossmont Hospital. I am currently a registered nurse on a PCU/IMU stepdown unit at UCSD Thornton, with one year experience. However, my heart has been set on being a labor and delivery since I was 10 years old. I am so excited to bring the skills, knowledge and confidence I gained during my time as critical care nurse into the different, yet beautiful area of Labor and Delivery. During nursing school, I had the privilege to do my clinical rotations in women's health at Sharp Mary Birch, I gained experience in the labor and delivery setting, as well as in NICU, postpartum, PSCU, triage and antenatal testing. I also have CNA experience at multiple Sharp hospitals via float pool, in San Diego. Furthermore, I fully believe that my current RN position has helped me gain knowledge and skills that will equip me to be a proficient labor and delivery nurse; my heart and passion for women's health will drive me in my pursuit of culturally competent, safe and optimal patient care. My life's mission is to care for women and babies, advocating for their health and facilitating a compassionate, safe and empowering birth environment.
