• Independently manage a team of mid to senior level QAEs and SDETs to successfully deliver high quality features for the Dash Cart team. The Amazon Dash cart is a smart shopping cart that allows skipping checkout lines and makes grocery trips faster
• Responsible for testing cross-functional components of the cart i.e. Software, Algorithms, Infrastructure, Firmware and some limited scoped Hardware
• Partner closely with Dev Managers, Product Managers and Program Managers to deliver Test strategies, timelines and QA milestones for a project
• Create clear and continuous visibility into the quality of the product by sending out Bug metric reports and Product readiness reports at a regular cadence.
• Led the team to deliver on 95% API automation coverage in the estimated timeline. Simultaneously created a plan to drive UI automation efforts

• Interviewed and hired all levels of Test Engineers across the Test organization. Grew own team from 4 to 12 QA/QE. Conducted detailed code reviews and provided best practice feedback for Java Selenium automation
• Created an API Test Automation programming interview exercise using Java RestAssured for candidates which was leveraged for all Test engineer hiring across the Test organization
• Led the initiative to expand the production deploy test suite from 7 to 16 tests. This required reaching out to multiple business critical teams and working with their Test engineers to get automated tests added for their workflow.
• Led a team of 4 Test Engineers to research and assess an API testing tool for the new Python based microservice-based architecture engineering was designing. The decision was made to use Pytest-BDD so as to enable all engineers to write/review the automation without switching technologies
• Advocated for high Unit & Component tests so as to support continuous development of features with the necessary test coverage. This also eliminated the dependency on having a Test Environment and instead used docker container spun up in a Buildkite pipeline
• Created an E2E test strategy and test case document for the new ecosystem being built which led to 7 risks identified in advance. Pulled together ~20 engineers to conduct a Blitz testing session to execute the test cases and reported 8 bugs

• Led a team of mid/senior SDETs to design, develop, implement and improve test methodologies, test plans and build highly effective test automation
• Mentored junior engineers and provided technical guidance to build Java Selenium tests and to troubleshoot issues in product features and test automation framework
• Built/harnessed existing testing tools and automated testing frameworks in RestAssured(Java) to create service level automation for new features as well as maintained the existing API and DB automation. Executed those tests on a large scale distributed test network
• Dissected high-level requirements into quantifiable test plans, gave accurate estimates for automating them, worked with the Dev team to plan and manage releases for the product and performed timely regression testing

• Initiated the building of the automation framework using Selenium and Webdriver when Bullhorn became cross-browser. Setup up jobs on Jenkins to run the automation as well for release builds and hotfixes. This led to close to 1000 automated tests (web + mobile) being written by various Automation test engineers
• After a couple of years, led a re-design initiative for the above 1000 tests to make them more stable, faster, running nightly and posting results to an inhouse Automation Dashboard where everyone could view and track the runs daily
• Worked with various departments like Technical Operations, ReleaseEngineering, Professional Services and Support to troubleshoot critical production issues
• Managed and mentored off shore teams
• Drove quality focused initiatives across the engineering organization by leading the Quality Steering Committee. Measure product quality via metrics and implemented processes to help improve the same.

• As part of the Shopping Experience Team, developed and executed manual functional, integration, regression and system testing.Also created automation tests using WebDriver, SqlPlus and SqlDeveloper, to perform database testing
• Led the test effort for a new startup project which required creation of various test documents like the test plan, test case document and test reports either manually or using a tool called “TestLink”
• As part of the Search Engine Optimization Team, initiated the creation of Load and Stress Tests using JMeter to test the performance of the website

• Performed regression, performance, load, smoke and stress testing on a Java based web application in an agile environment.
• Successfully created around 500 automation test suites using Selenium and Robot Framework, reducing testing time for major user stories from 16 hours to 2 hours
• Wrote automation tests to validate & verify the various web services between different tools and database updates using database queries
