• As a medical care intern at Champaign Humane Society, I was responsible for setting up and administering treatments to animals under veterinary care. This involved preparing medications, vaccines, and other necessary supplies as directed by veterinarians, ensuring treatment areas were organized and sanitized. During treatment sessions, I worked closely with veterinary staff to assist with procedures such as wound care, vaccinations, and medication administration, following protocols diligently to ensure accurate and safe delivery of treatments. • During my shadowing experience at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign's large animal veterinary hospital, I immersed myself in the dynamic world of veterinary medicine. Guided by seasoned professionals, I witnessed a diverse range of clinical procedures, from intricate surgeries to routine examinations. This firsthand exposure not only deepened my understanding of large animal care but also highlighted the importance of effective communication and collaboration within the veterinary team.
