Activities

  • Attend village meetings, public work, and participated in traditional dances with the Pueblo of Laguna.
  • Assisted as a coach/player in a Native American women’s fast-pitch softball league from 2004 to 2019.
  • Elected as a village trustee for one of the six villages for the Pueblo of Laguna from 2005 to 2008.
  • I was selected as Secretary with the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) for Laguna Elementary School from August 2006 to August 2007.
  • June of 1995 to May 1996, I participated as a member and co-founder of the Phoenix Union High School District-Indian Education Program’s (PUHSD-IEP) UNITY-F.I.R.E. Youth Council which was created for the students to develop leadership skills and become role models through social, educational, spiritual, and physical activities and I attended monthly meetings, and along with other co-founders, reported activities to PUHSD-IEP Parent Organization, I sent out monthly newsletters, I help with creating retreat camps, and conducted fundraisers.
  • In 1994-1995 I was the only female student attending carpentry class at Metro Tech.
  • In 1993 I was selected for the AISES Student Scholarship and attended Glendale Community College in the Summer of 1993 through the Summer of 1994.

  • I made the Dean’s List in the Fall of 2007 and Fall of 2009.
  • In 2008, I was awarded the Campus Director Scholarship for the Summer Semester and I was inducted to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
  • In 2009, I was awarded a scholarship from the Continental Society Daughters of Indian Wars.
  • In 2009 and 2010, I was awarded the Laguna Scholarship.
