I’m a seventy-four, year-old history buff and have spent many years researching my father’s family tree (surname Loy) and its corresponding cultural history in the Virginia and West Virginia Panhandle. I started my research by interviewing my father (Ernest Milton Loy). I learned that my great grandparents migrated into Maryland from Leesburg and Lucketts in Loudoun County, Virginia. Consequently, I began my research by visiting the courthouse and The Thomas Balch libraries in Leesburg, Virginia.
This path led me to discovering my next generation of ancestors following their migration path from Pennsylvania, into Maryland, then through Frederick and Hampshire Counties in Virginia and West Virginia. More recently I connected with my West Virginia relatives, in Hampshire County, through social media, namely Facebook. I’ve also conversed with distant relatives in Leesburg, Virginia and Frederick, Maryland.
In my professional career, I spent over thirty years building and enhancing computer software systems. Ninety per cent of my work involved the establishment and maintenance of user requirements documentation. I excel in interviewing clients and discerning their needs both spoken and unspoken. My skill-set includes Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Visio. Other products
I have developed are work flow diagrams, as well as system designs and detailed specifications for both computer technicians and business audiences. I have been a team leader, overseeing the production of systems that manage employee benefits as well as systems that determine Social Security Disability. Thorough team contributor with strong organizational capabilities. Experienced in handling numerous projects at once while ensuring accuracy. Effective at prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
