As head manager of the Webster Groves Aquatics Center, every aspect of the facility was my responsibility. It was my job to maintain a safe chemical balance, and ensure the mechanics of the pool remained intact. Besides keeping the pool running, I was in charge of day-to-day lifeguard staffing. In this position, I was the boss, leader, and teacher of kids my age or a couple of years younger, as I led my guards through correct procedures and training throughout the summer. Any issues with patrons or between guards were directed to me, and it was my responsibility to resolve the problem. Because of the nature of the job, I was on call for emergencies, and many times I had to answer such a call.

• Created workouts, taught stroke development, and facilitated swim meets for ages 8-14.
• Served as a mentor and role model while cooperating with other coaches to create a positive peer culture within the team.

• Instructed swimmers aged 4-10 on proper stroke technique, including freestyle and backstroke.
• Demonstrated proper breathing techniques for each stroke to ensure safety and efficiency in the water.
• Encouraged swimmers to challenge themselves and build confidence in the pool.

• Operated cash register efficiently and accurately, processed payments by cash, check, credit card, gift card or automatic debit.
• Counted money in cash drawer at the beginning of shift to ensure that amounts were correct and have sufficient change.
• Maintained a cleanly environment carrying out duties given by supervisor

• Monitored swimmers to ensure safety in the pool area.
• Performed emergency rescues when necessary.
• Enforced all safety regulations and posted rules for patrons.
• Performed regular cleaning and maintenance of pool equipment.
