My name is Barry Schnaitman. I’m a senior at Ouachita, majoring in Communications and Media, and I’m also part of the ROTC program. I have a passion for storytelling, whether that’s through photography, media production, or strategic communication.
As the Communications Coordinator and Photographer for New Life Church, I managed and executed the church’s communication strategies across multiple platforms to ensure clear, engaging, and consistent messaging. I oversaw social media content, design promotional materials, and help maintain the church’s brand voice in all public communications. In my photography role, I captured key moments during services, events, and outreach programs, using visual storytelling to highlight the life and mission of the church. My goal was to connect the congregation and community through creative media that reflects the heart and vision of New Life Church.
While in high school, I worked at Eventology, a local event planning and rental company, where I was part of the team responsible for transporting and setting up wedding furniture and decor at various venues. This hands-on job taught me the importance of hard work, reliability, and teamwork. I learned how to manage time effectively, work under pressure, and adapt to different environments. It was a physically demanding role that helped build my work ethic early on and gave me a behind-the-scenes look at the event industry.
