I was promoted to group leader in 2007 and have been in this role since. I have supervised in IA220,IA240, IA250,IA620,IA640,IA650,IA820 and IA840. I have worked in every section in the shop. I have 6 years in conveynce experience
My main goal whenever I am put in a new group is to make that group the best group in the company. When I was a team member, I pushed the veteran team members who had become complacent in their jobs to strive to do better. I did this through leading by example. I was in a Chassis group that was considered the "bottle neck" of the shop. In a matter of a few months, I was able to motivate my peers and supervisors to take pride in their jobs and eliminate the downtime that was causing us to short out the shop. My group went from an average of 45 minutes downtime a night to barely over 6 minutes a night. Not only did I do this as the new team member in the group, I was only 19 years old. I have a natural ability to lead and motivate. I have the perfect combination of communication as well as the ability to lead through coaching and positive reinforcement.
When first promoted to team leader, I was put in IA240. It literally was the worst group in quality and productivity in all of line 1. Not to metion the morale was a disaster. In less than one year, IA240 had under a minute downtime and had the best quality in the shop. It became a group that team members wanted to transfer to. I had a great part in making that happen simply by leading by example and taking pride in what I do. Using problem solving and following TPS also played a huge role. I helped lead the south dock conveyance group through the biggest model change in our history. The vehicle platform changed and i lead my group through the new obstacles of process changes and new processing. I just lead my group last year through a takt time change where we reduced 5 processes without missing any of our KPI targets.
When I took over my Subway store, it was last out of 7 stores in the area in sales and service. After 2 years, I had the number one store in sales and service. I implemented the FMDS system in the store as well as FIFO. Corporate was so impressed with the way my store was set up that I was featured in their international monthly magazine.
I completed my TBP panel in 2014 and the coordinator asked for permission to use my TBP to use in his training classes.
