As a Volunteer with the Conversational English Partner program in Fort Collins, Colorado, I had the opportunity to match and work with international learners who wanted to improve their conversational English skills. With each learner, I met regularly for conversations that served as a platform for them to practice and hone their conversational abilities. Aside from providing conversational assistance, it was also an excellent opportunity for me to learn about different cultures and experiences. It was extremely rewarding to witness the impact that my help had on my student's confidence as they progressed in their language learning.

I also had the opportunity to observe other English language programs for comparison and contrast purposes. This allowed me to gain valuable insight into different teaching approaches, strategies, and techniques which I could then apply to my own teaching methods. By engaging in all these activities during my time as a volunteer, I gained first-hand experience on how language learning works and how best to facilitate it.
