Surgical Shadowing & Observation

• Cardiothoracic Specialization: Accrue specialized hours shadowing surgeons in the Cardio-thoracic surgery clinic, observing the diagnostic process for complex heart procedures.
• Diagnostic & Procedure Literacy: Gained exposure to medical imaging and diagnostic tools, including echocardiograms and angiograms, used to assess surgical candidacy for open-heart procedures.
• Pre-Surgical Logic: Learned to correlate patient symptoms and diagnostic data with the specific surgical techniques chosen by the attending surgeons, improving understanding of clinical decision-making.
