I have 10+ years of experience in retail settings as well as some jobs in the education industry and mental health industry. I'm proficient in customer service and cash handling, as well as being able to work in a team environment and lead a team if needed. I value the ability to be knowledgeable in the products I'm selling and recommending along with being able to learn from others around me. I take feedback very well and am quick to fix the things that I need to and adapt to new responsibilities as they are given. Customer service is something I genuinely enjoy and strive to do well with and I value the interactions I get to have with customers of all types.
At Elevated, my duties include greeting customers in a warm and welcoming way while checking their identification and medical cards to ensure they are valid, unexpired and that the customer is of legal age. It also includes the ability to build rapport with customers so as to make accurate recommendations based on their needs and preferences, as well as educating them so they can have a safe and enjoyable experience. It is my job to make sure the store is clean, welcoming and organized to enhance the customer's visit to the store. It's also important to ensure we are staying in compliance with the laws and regulations surrounding medical and recreational use of cannabis and not sell over their limit.
Since starting at Ulta I have worked in all aspects of the store, with my two main position names being a Prestige Beauty Advisor and most recently a Task Associate. As a Prestige Beauty Advisor my job was to be educated in the higher end brands in the store as well as have a good understanding of how all products work in order to help customers to the best of my ability. Becoming a Task Associate changed my duties slightly, and instead of mainly cashiering and helping customers on the sales floor I mostly did projects like setting up new displays and organizing the products both on the floor and in the stock room.
As a budtender at Top Shelf Botanicals I was new to the cannabis industry and had learn the laws and regulations in order to stay in compliance at all times. I helped customers with their specific needs and preferences while also educating them so they could have a safe experience with cannabis. Something I encountered fairly often were customers that were angry at certain policies which required the use of de-escalation techniques in order to calm the situation down.
As a teacher at Whee-LEaRn I mostly taught our preschool and pre-k classes as well as supervising the after school program when needed. After moving from Little Fox to Whee-LEaRn the tasks required of me increased and I started planning a week's worth of activities for multiple subjects to teach the children the fundamentals they needed depending on their age. Towards the end of my employment there I was able to be the senior staff member when my boss and manager were not available.
As a teacher's assistant I started out being trained to be a teacher, and was still being trained to have been planning activities for the week. As a teacher's assistant I ran morning activities such as circle time, reading books, putting children down for naps, and had to select activities for the week while simultaneously making sure the kids got adequate time outside. The job also required more of the ability to talk to parents and accurately report their child's day to them.
As a receptionist my job included customer service and booking appointments. I handled paperwork as well as filing charts and other documents, along with handling closing duties such as counting out deposits and making sure all the days sales were in order. My other duties also included handling communication between techs/doctors and our clients, keeping the rooms and lobby clean and organized and being empathetic to customers who received bad news.
As a support counselor some of my duties were referring to the lead staff in making a plan for the day along with maintaining safe control of the milieu. Along with building and maintaining healthy relationships with the children, as a support counselor I helped work with families in support of the counselors. Other important aspects were medication administration, daily documentation of how the shift went and supporting the children throughout their treatment. As a Counselor I, I got to work more pointedly with specific children and their families in having healthy relationships and a safe home, while also helping and supporting them through their treatment, usually lasting 12-18 months. This also gave me valuable experience in therapeutic mental health settings as well as important de-escalation techniques.
Working in the Nature School program in the day care, I assisted in taking the children to and from the nature school daily as well as rotate through the other classrooms to help out when short staffed. I would occasionally run the classroom if the teacher would not be there that day and would help with making snacks or meals while simultaneously watching over the children to ensure their safety.
As an Assistant Manager by job including opening and closing the store, taking daily trips to the bank with company deposits, and directing the team of sales associates. My daily tasks included stocking new products, organizing shelves and displays, and setting out daily sales advertisements. I also occasionally helped with interviewing job candidates when the manager was unavailable and terminating employees if needed.
I started my job at Macy's as a Holiday Recovery Associate whose job it was to return clothes/shoes/accessories to their places during the holidays. I was offered a permanent job after the holidays were over as a Sales Associate, and eventually moved to being a Shoe Associate. As a Shoe Associate I came to be in charge of the department, the stockroom, the sales floor, and customer service. I was occasionally left in charge when we had no sales manager which included supervising other shoe department associates and setting out sales and new signage when needed.
Working at Target was my first job and my responsibilities were to handle customer service, whether at a register or on the sales floor. I was also tasked with retrieving carts and keeping them stocked around the store and covering in the food court while the staff were on breaks. My duties also included cleaning any messes that occurred and keeping product neat and stocked on the shelves if I was on the sales floor.
Repeated renewal of cannabis worker permit as well as classes on the rules and regulations of medical and recreational marijuana usage.
