Work History

Project Engineer

Wonderful Pistachios and Almonds
01.2021 - Current
  • Managed 3 multi-million dollar projects from early conceptual design phase to final commissioning, while working closely with customers and stakeholders. Develop project budgets, timeline and completion reports.
  • Coordinating with several contractors and equipment rentals to complete installations in a safe and timely manner.
  • Assisted with creating new plant utility layouts for: steam, low voltage electricity, and compressed air.
  • Became subject expert for new AI Optical Sorting technology and developed testing procedures to validate the use throughout several plants.
  • Sourced and designed vibratory, horizontal, tubular, and rotary conveyance systems that best fit each application to safely and efficiently move product.
  • Implementation of internal engineering standards to reduce fabrication downtime and material waste.
  • Assist with mechanical maintenance teams to perform routine service and replacement of mechanical equipment.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Textron Specialized Vehicles
01.2018 - 01.2021
  • Launched a new upgrade of E-Z-GO personal transport vehicle model, Express, while meeting all scope requirements and within a tight timeline.
  • Worked alongside manufacturing while developing new components to achieve project goals increasing manufacturing efficiency, reducing product variation, and cost.
  • Developed new electrical harnesses for new E-Z-GO Express vehicles to accommodate new LED DRL headlights/taillights and Curtis CAN gauge while being backwards compatible with existing vehicle models. New harness routing allows for efficient installation and reduces the use of jumper and accessory harnesses reducing cost per vehicle.
  • Organized and performed several stability, speed, and brake SAE/ANSI compliance tests, to determine the best suspension configuration that would allow Express vehicles to achieve desired top speed while maintaining comfortable ride quality.
  • Coordinated a prototype build to test new cost saving components for Arctic Cat utility vehicles and advocated several cost out ideas for frame and plastic systems to save an annual estimate of $150,000.
  • Designed sheet metal components to minimize cost and part variation from simple burn and bend to stampings.
  • Worked with Caterpillar Inc. and suppliers to determine the cause of fading colored plastics for CAT utility vehicles, developed a new solution, and had the solution implemented in a short time frame for production.

Engineering Intern

Saf-T-Cab
01.2016 - 2018
  • Analyzed and identified the most efficient production process for ROPS/Cab manufacturing. Working with a “Quality Circle Team” using SolidWorks Composer, created work procedure documents for ISO welding audit certifications.
  • Conducted roll, flip, and flop tests using hydraulic rams, load cells, and specialized measuring instrumentation to ensure cab meets required Certified Standards before O.E.M production could begin.

Journeyman Driller

Bradley & Sons Drilling and Pump
01.2011 - 01.2015

  • Led a 3-person team for long hours in stressful conditions, managed drill site for safety and efficiency, and calculated down hole volume.
  • Performed routine safety inspection and maintenance of equipment and repaired any damaged machinery.
  • Installed submersible water turbines while running electrical diagnostics systems.
