Exceptional Nanny with experience supporting daily success and health of children of varying needs and interests. Versatile and adaptable in conducting errands, cooking, changing diapers and entertaining children according to parental specifications. Reliable and supportive member of house operations, assisting family as extenuating circumstances arise.
Growing up, I was the fourth out of seven children in the family and was born in Pensacola, Florida. As a child, we moved around a lot as our Dad was in retail. Having never stayed in one place for more than a year this allowed me to see more of the world which taught me an appreciation for different cultures and meeting new people.
As an adult, I had a total of four children. Now all grown up and on their own, the girls are 30, 26, and 20 and my son is 23. When my son was four years old he was diagnosed with Leukemia and Lymphoma. That is when I decided to be a stay at home mom. He underwent five years of chemotherapy. Going through this as a family forces you to be stronger and let go of all the shyness part of you. Once my son had completed chemotherapy, I received custody of which I raised until their parents were able to bring them home two years later. I then opened a daycare in my home as I will still nervous about my son's cancer returning but I wanted to pursue my passion of helping children.
For nine years, I raised children as young as two months old way through twelve years old at my daycare. During this time, I planned the meals, the feeding and nap schedules, and the field trips as well as sleep training, and bottle break, and assisted in learning to walk and potty training. I could not have been happier! I was then approached by someone who suggested I would make a great contribution as a social worker. After weighing my pros and cons, I decided I could make a difference in children and their families by pursuing this offer, and did this for two years before returning to Nanny work.
In my childhood experience, I have worked with many different families, including high profiles, and have an appreciation for the individual needs of every household and their privacy. If I had to describe myself, I would say I am a very laid-back, open, and honest person. I love to travel, learn new things, and broaden my horizons. I strive to help others in any way to make their lives easier. I know how hard it is to be a parent and how you don't want to miss any of their "firsts" so I send pictures throughout the day to families in hopes that will ease their minds and brighten their day. I am a pet lover and a great listener, love to organize, and solving problems seems to be my niche besides hugging and loving on children, including my own, daily reminding them to make good choices. My motto is - everything happens for a reason so whether good or bad, learn from it and move on to life's next chapter for you.
I am excited to meet my next Nanny family and share the joys of life with their children as the whole family grows!
