- Effective leader and communicator with a focus on providing excellent patient care.
- Precept nursing students including mentees in the TAP (Talent Attraction Program) as well as new hires for CNICU.
- Assume role of Charge Nurse, if needed; consisting of supervising nursing staff and monitoring their needs, coordinating nursing assignments, rapid response/code blue responder throughout hospital.
- Efficient in BLS/ACLS.
- Care of immediate post operative open heart patients.
- Implementation of nurse-led early extubation after open heart surgery via hospital approved extubation algorithm.
- Monitor and care for patients requiring epicardial, tranvenous, or transcutaneous pacing.
- Provide care for unstable post arrest patients requiring targeted temperature management.
- Monitor and care of patients with EVD (External Ventricular Device).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and advocate/care for critically ill patients including treatment of STEMI/NSTEMI, cardiac arrest, HTN, CHF,Covid, Sepsis, Shock,ARDs requiring proning, Stroke, DKA, etc.
- Familiar with utilizing NMB agents along with the use of Train of Four monitoring device.
- Experience with various Inotrope/pressor medications such as Epinephrine, Norepinephrine, neosynephrine, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Vasopressin.
- Experience with antiarrythmics and vasodilators such as Amiodarone, Diltiazem, Esmolol, and Nitroglycerin.
- Experience with management and weaning of sedative agents for ventilated patients.
- Monitor and care for patients with tracheostomy, BiPAP, CPAP, Optiflow, HFNC, as well as other oxygen delivering services.
- Proficient in ABG and EKG interpretation
- Obtaining blood work via central line, aline, and venipuncture.
- Monitor and care for patients with chest tubes and pericardial drains.
- Proficient in assisting with initial setup and monitoring of arterial lines, PA catheters, and CVP lines as well as interpreting hemodynamic data from PA, CVP, and arterial lines.
- Provide 1:1 nursing care to patients requiring impella assistance.
- Provide care for patients requiring IABP assistance.
- Caring for patients on ECMO until patient is transferred to Pittsburgh AGH for higher level of care.
- CAM-ICU and CIWA management protocols.
