As a Support Staff at victory I was given multiple tasks that I had to do throughout the day such as helping students. While I help students I have to help them with life skills/ social skills. Not only that but I help with lunch prep and I often have to change diapers and have to help potty train many of the students. Though the most important thing that I do is help maintain student safety and de-escalate situations if students behavior gets too aggressive often having to take them to de-escalation rooms if they are causing themselves or others harm. Not only that but i have to teach the students to regulate their behaviors and how to prevent behaviors. Often times outside of my regular duties I would volunteer to help when and wherever it is needed, I was in before care and this is where the students would come an hour before school even starts and I would have to come up with fun learning activities for them while maintaining a safe organized space. At the end of the school day I would also be the crossing guard I would make sure students and staff got safely across the street so that staff can help walk students to their cars.
