Building 207 CE Relocation; 3M Company, Maplewood, MN. Field investigation, background preparation, design, construction documents, bidding, construction phase services and close out to relocate equipment that is currently on level 1 in Building 207 to Building 251 Room B335.

Restroom and Locker Room Building Addition; CertainTeed, Shakopee, MN. Architectural services for a conceptual 2,000 SF addition layout for restroom and locker room spaces that will facilitate 200 or more employees. TKDA developed a conceptual floor plan, exterior elevations, and building sections with high level exterior and interior finish material selections for pricing. A building code review was also provided to determine allowable areas and construction types.

Terminal Operations Office Building Remodel and Addition; Alter Logistics, Saint Paul, MN. Remodeling and reconfiguring a 640 SF existing office space into two control rooms and a women’s restroom. A building expansion will add a breakroom, men’s restroom, and men’s locker room.

Vertical Circulation Building; Metro Transit, Saint Paul, MN. The project is modifications for an existing non-required stair and elevator from street level up to skyway level. Project includes security improvements. These security improvements include a security fence with a maintenance access / security gate at the back of the VCB to protect the existing HVAC units and an automated accordion door at the skyway Impact resistant window film and upgrades to the exterior lighting.

US Bank Station Renovation; Metro Transit, Saint Paul, MN. Renovation and repurposing of the interior buss passenger waiting facility at Sixth and Minnesota Streets into a secure office space for the Metro Transit Police Department.

Blue Lake Building Assessment Study; Metropolitan Council Environmental Services, Shakopee, MN. Architectural building code evaluation of an existing 4,000 SF administration facility, existing structural integrity and existing mechanical/electrical service. Included proposed building systems upgrades and recommendations.

Corporate Office Improvements; TKDA, Saint Paul, MN. Expansion and renovation of TKDA’s 15th and 17th floor offices. Tasks include owner representation and construction administration services for a 5,700 SF renovation/remodel.

Fire Station Feasibility Study, Marathon Petroleum, Saint Paul Park, MN. Conceptual design providing fire station floor plan, exterior elevations, and cost estimate.

Weld Shop Building, Marathon Petroleum, Single story pre-engineered metal building consisting of 10,080 SF in total area to be utilized as a shop and office area (2,700 SF). Uses in building include weld shop, office, breakroom and restroom / shower facilities.

Workforce Building; Marathon Petroleum, Saint Paul Park, MN. This manufactured metal building is a single story, sloped roof structure approximately 21,000 SF in area. It serves as a collective center for the client’s skilled labor work force at their Saint Paul Park campus. The building contains training, break and locker rooms; private offices, and a vehicle maintenance garage. The floor plan of the building was designed with an available 2,200 SF for future expansion.

Shops Building; Marathon Petroleum, LLC. Design of a 23,000 SF pre-engineered shops building and site improvements. The shops included a 2,000 SF office mezzanine.

Lab Renovation and Addition; Flint Hills Resources, Rosemount, MN. Design of a two-story, 15,080 SF lab addition to the west of the existing lab building/south administration office building.

North Administration Building; Flint Hills Resources, Inver Grove Heights, MN. This three-story, 91,000 SF facility located north of the FHR Refinery provides administrative offices for 225 persons, with future expansion capability.

Maintenance Shop and Warehouse Facility; Flint Hills Resources, Rosemount, MN. Programming, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering service for the planning and development of a 135,000 SF shop and warehouse facility to consolidated nine existing shops from around the refinery.

North Administration Office Building; Flint Hills Resources, Inver Grove Heights, MN. Project included a 91,000 SF, three level office building designed to facilitate the space requirements between the many diverse departments that operate within the campus.

Control Building 33; Flint Hills Resources, Rosemount, MN. TKDA was the Owners representative for the design of the 3,400 SF Control Building 33, a prefabricated modular and blast-resistant structure housing refinery unit control facilities, personnel offices, open office and contractor permit area, energy control area, conference room, break room and kitchenette, restrooms and locker rooms.

Stinson Plant 2017/2018 TGP Expansion; Honeywell, Minneapolis, MN. TKDA is providing architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical design services to reconfigure the TGP production factory space. The work includes expanding the assembly area, testing facilities, and a Class 10,000 clean room. The project involves extensive coordination, laying out production equipment, and reworking of plant utilities to accommodate the new and relocated equipment. In addition to preparing construction documents, TKDA assisted the client’s internal team with construction administration.

City Hall, Police Station, and Fire Station; North St. Paul, MN. The 45,000 SF multi-use building combined the city's administrative and emergency departments. The city hall's public services challenged the security requirements of the police department and the 24-hour needs of the fire department. The design incorporated an open lobby area with service counters for the finance, community service, and police departments with after-hours lock down capabilities. Public space was day lit with a translucent barrel vault skylight and apparatus bays have clerestory windows and glass overhead doors for natural light and to display the fire trucks.

Johnson High School Addition and Renovation; Saint Paul Public Schools, Saint Paul, MN. Design of a two-story, 6,200 SF administration and classroom addition and a 45,701 SF interior remodel encompassing gender neutral restrooms, cafeteria, circulation, and counseling office suite. Also included a 107,800 SF roof replacement (includes addition).

Rondo Education Center Improvements; Saint Paul Public Schools, Saint Paul, MN. Provided project management and design for multiple upgrades including new security surveillance equipment, PA system, and marker board replacement for all classrooms, and teaching and meeting rooms for the three schools within the Rondo Education Center (Capitol Hill, Benjamin Mays and Museum Magnet). The improvements also included locker room remodel, new Mandarin kindergarten, new kindergarten classrooms, and classroom renovations. Remodeling throughout included technology, security, lighting, restroom and plumbing upgrades. Site upgrades improved bus and parent drop-off, and student pedestrian access.

Pilot Brew Classroom; Dakota County Technical College, Rosemount, MN. The 1,700 SF renovation of existing classroom 1-502 for the new Pilot Beer Brewing program. The remodel included installation and service connections for water, power, and gas, to support student instruction of small-scale pilot brewing systems. The remodel included a brewing area with an exhaust hood, a trench drain system, new non-porous floor and wall finishes for wash-down capability, and a new masonry partition for the sink and washer area.
