Summary

I am a graduating Computer Science student at Brown who has been prepping for work in the animation industry from a young age. I was in high school when I picked up blender and taught myself how to 3D model. Now, I want to take those skills to the industry. In my work, I see myself as an artist and an engineer: I build tools that help bring ideas to life.

Work History

Pipeline TD Intern

Ingenuity Studios
Los Angeles, CA
05.2018 - 08.2018

I worked at a Hollywood visual effects studio working on numerous tools and projects for animators, compositors, editors, and effects artists. This involved programming tools for Houdini, Maya, Nuke, Hiero, and After Affects. Major projects for this position included:

  • Maya to Houdini Asset Converter:
Built an extensive tool that serialized 3D models and their textures so that they could be imported into both Maya and Houdini. This allowed Ingenuity to be able to access its 3D assets across software divides.
  • UDIM Manager:
Made a Maya tool for crowd simulation that would automatically organize the UV maps of clothing models to the next free UDIM.
  • Houdini NC File Converter:
There was an issue at Ingenuity where our Houdini files would be saved as Non-Commercial files despite the fact that we had a license. I made a tool which could edit Non-Commercial files and save them as Commercial files. This saved days of communication with SideFX.

Marketing Tech Intern

Activision Publishing Inc.
Santa Monica, CA
06.2018 - 08.2018

I experienced what it is like working at a large company in the gaming industry. My specific responsibilities involved implementing interface updates for multiple Activision websites. As a result, Activision now has a more unified and organized layout for its web assets.

In addition to the work I did for the company, Activision provided me with numerous resources for learning about the gaming industry. I spoke with Community Managers, Developers, Designers, QA Testers, and Publishers at Activision, Blizzard, and various other studios.
