Developed a passion for drumming at the age of 8 learning the basic rudiments and continued to take lessons throughout my early school years and high school playing in the concert and jazz bands. As first chair drummer/percussionist in the jazz bands, I learned to combine foundational teachings with feel, pocket, groove, and improvisation. Between the latin-jazz style I gravitated to during my private lessons and the heavy-handed stylings of John Bonham which I studied meticulously covering Led Zeppelin songs with my friends in their dirty basements, I found a voice on the drum-kit I wanted to share with the world. Throughout my years, I played in a handful of different groups playing a lot of small scale shows in bars and clubs while writing, collaborating, recording, and dreaming. Playing at the Stone Pony, Arlene's Grocery, and The Chance were a few of my highlights in terms of music venues, but I am most proud of the lessons I have learned by listening to my bandmates and allowing the music to breathe.
