  • When I graduated in 93 I went straight into classes for fluid power I was in a program put together by Unversity of Michigan-Flint and the Genessee County Skill Center for teaching skilled trades In 95 I took a job as a pipe fitter with Shores Hydraulics I had to stop going to school I worked with them until 04, I was laid off that's when I started Herzog Construction Beginning with roofing and siding, I worked my way up to being part of some major projects Like cabins on the side of a mountain in Gatlinberg or five story concrete structures like Hampton Inns and Country Inns I did that for 12 or 13 years Around 2016 I took a job doing maintenance for Salvation Army For the next few years I did a lot of moving and worked many different jobs like Tuff Shed, Home Depot, Poultie Homes doing calls That's when my wife's mother got sick and needed in home care We moved to Chippewa Lake At first I did maintenance for Hillcrest-Oakwood, college apartments I put in some time at Original Footwear In 2021 I started at ground level with Big Rapids Products I knew rite away it was a good fit I liked the company, my co-workers, decent wage, room for advancement Here I am, 3 years later, asking for the opportunity to use my experience and knowledge to be more valuable for the company Wether crib attendant, maintenance, or tool and die There is nothing I cant do with the proper training
