I have worked in many roles throughout my career with Lowe’s including Installed Sales Manager, Assistant store manager over all departments, Store Manager in multiple states and markets and lastly as a District Manager over the Seattle Market.
As a District Manager I was responsible for overall store performance, with a primary focus on sales and profitability. Responsible for driving store sales growth and profitability by approaching the business strategically, studying issues and opportunities within the local markets, and working to develop/implement long-range plans that drive business objectives. This includes coaching and developing the leadership talent within the market and constantly prepare and lead people through change.
I was also responsible for partnering with my RVP & SVP to review strategies and then takes specific tactical steps to execute the strategy successfully across individual stores and ensures Store Managers understands his/her impact and responsibility in delivering to that strategy.
I was responsible for driving the execution of all corporate and regional programs designed to drive sales and service in the stores; establishes a Sales Culture by setting clear and measurable sales goals for stores; holds store management accountable for attaining those goals while also helping them understand the intent and inspiring them to drive for results on their own.
My typical week would include regular visits to Stores within my territory to validate that the brand presentation standards are maintained at all times and take swift and appropriate action when standards do not meet expectations.
Lastly, I was responsible for reviewing store staffing/payroll and other controllable expenses reports (e.g., sales/payroll weekly reports, FT/PT ratio reports, controllable expense reports) and takes action when something does not meet company standards while actively looking for new ways to improve store staffing productivity and ways to reduce store expenses; partners with and supports
As a business owner I was responsible for all aspects of the business including but not limited to lead generation, estimating, installing, ordering supplies and building key relationships.
My business provided rain gutter installation and maintenance to both residential and commercial customers throughout Southern California.
We achieved strong year over year growth by building a motivated team to generate leads and keep the pipeline full. I set clear and concise goals to convert those leads into sales and coached my team on how to overcome objections.
I also worked very closely with many large home builders to ensure that all installation deadlines were being met and that the quality of our work was up to standard.
