I was awarded the scrap crane operator position in December 2023. Since then, I've received some great training visiting scrap yards and from some of my experienced teammates. I had the opportunity to become a teammate at Nucor Marion, where I received some great training on their overhead scrap crane from some very experienced crane operators. I had the opportunity to get qualified on the job, and I got to fill in on a crew. I also got to fill in for some vacationing and injured teammates. It was great to get some experience on an overhead crane and at the same time help out Marion that was shorthanded at the time
I worked in the heat treat area for the Timken Company. I built batches of the product to go into the carburizing furnaces. I had to ensure the correct gas flows and temperatures were maintained throughout the recipe cycle. I also worked in the lab, where we would cut and analyze parts to make sure they were within corporate standard specs.
I enjoy gardening, raising vegetables and sharing the harvest with friends and family. I also enjoy time with my family especially my 3 year old grandson Kolson and vising parents and siblings in West Virginia when i can.
