• The focus was aimed at communication between assistant nurse managers and bed coordinators
• The group approached the problem in a methodical fashion by mapping out processes and workflow to identify areas that worked well and gaps in the process that would benefit from process improvement
• Outcome of this project was the combination of two workflow sheets to ensure that both groups were collecting and reporting consistent information to improve the timely bed placement of Veterans
• First measurement data indicated improved qualitative outcomes on the side of nursing with consistent processes

• The learner participated in a simulation that immersed them in a scenario that demonstrated the challenges of a dementia patient
• The overall goal of the class was to improve dementia care and support quality of life of the Veteran
• An integral member of the interdisciplinary simulation team, leading medical, nursing, and pharmacy students through simulations over the course of their 9-month academic year
• Developed the simulations, implementation of the simulation, managed the mannequin during the implementation of the simulation scenario, debriefing, and actor scripting were some of the many facets of this project
