American Heritage Girls is a Christian based organization who strives to give children the opportunity to belong. Through troops across the world, they are creating space for the participants to learn new skill sets, accomplish goals, and earn rewards for their achievements. In working in the warehouse for such an incredible organization, I'm able to play a role in ensuring the supplies get to the troops, to accomplish their goals of serving the children involved.
While working for a missions organization and enrolling participants into programs, we get to be diligent with understanding the hearts of the applicants while researching programs that best fit their preference and skillset.
Serving tables has been a favorite job of mine: while partnering with team members to enhance workflow and streamline operations in restaurant setting, we were able to create a dining experience that brought regulars back time and time again.
Being able to sit one-on-one with the owners of local businesses in Columbus and Cincinnati, we were able to form a partnership in order that I could design a site to share the vision of their company in an enticing way. As time progressed, as did these partnerships. It's a joy to see local businesses come alive thanks to an online presence.
While working the register to keep the customers feeling seen and heard as well as the store running efficiently, I was also able to work in the fabric department to assist my quilting regulars that they may be happy with their new creations. Teamwork on the Hobby Lobby Team was a firm example of how a successful team operates.
Long lines on hot summer days at an amusement park turned the task of serving snow cones to crowd control, quick counting at the register, accurate portion control, and serving a smile all while serving the cones. Handling the totals of the register at the end of the day provided opportunity to learn how to best handle finances.
