Servant Leader-oriented Sergeant with over ten years of experience (civilian law enforcement), and seven years of law enforcement experience in the U.S. Navy Reserve. I have had the opportunity to progress through various levels of supervision both in the military and at the Port Orange Police Department: (Unit Public information Officer U.S. Navy, FTO, training division, Union Representative/Vice President, PIO and Community Outreach Liaison at POPD, Adjunct Professor at Daytona State College). Each of these positions has provided me the opportunity to expand my knowledge of advancing personnel through training and education. I wanted to become more knowledgeable of the administrative operations and incident command of a police department, and as such I obtained my MBA with a concentration in Law Enforcement Management. Throughout my career, I have been an innovator in not only pointing out problems but creating practical solutions (creating and proposing a policy for load-bearing vests, creating the POPD Honor Guard, creating a social media team, changing POPD training from a two week computer based training to a two month hands on training cycle). My goal is to provide support to the Chief of Police through personnel supervision/training/and education, program management, and advancing the agency through integration of technology to solve problems.
