My research is driven by a commitment to advancing health equity and improving well-being throughout the life course of marginalized populations. Trained in sociology, I examine the social and structural barriers that marginalized populations face when managing a chronic illness, like diabetes. My research spans three primary areas of investigation: Using both quantitative and qualitative methods, I investigate how social, emotional, and structural factors shape health, healthcare experiences, and diabetes technology use among racially and socioeconomically diverse populations living with diabetes.
