* Participate in recruitment, orientation, and hiring of personnel, interns, and volunteers.
* Establish and maintain effective two-way communication to understand the needs and concerns of staff.
* Identify staff training needs and recommends trainings to the director to meet those needs within funding limitations.
* Conducts regular observations of all classroom staff as well as formal and informal observations.
* Completes performance evaluations, 30,60,90, and annual of all center staff.
* Handle discipline concerns to the appropriate level as described in the Personnel Policies and Procedures.
* Verify and approve staff mileage and time cards.
* Effectively manage staff's use of various types of leave.
* Assess all education staff to identify strengths, areas of needed support, and determines which staff would benefit most from intensive coaching.
* Create an action plan for staff receiving coaching, which includes goals and a plan for achieving those goals.
* Responsible for the Mental Health Component, referrals, tracking, and acts a liaison between classroom staff and the Mental Health Consultant.
* Assist staff in obtaining and maintaining their Child Care Credentials.
* Attend all trainings, seminars, and meetings required, including those out of town.
* Accurately prepare and submit all required paperwork/reports in a timely manner.
* Ensure all facilities and equipment are properly maintained and licensed to create a clean and safe environment for clients and staff.
* Ensure full/complete implementation of agency Policies and Procedures, pertaining to abuse/neglect, client records and client complaints.
* Meet with education staff on a weekly basis to discuss classroom needs and concerns.
* Monitors and approves all class field trips.
* Provide classroom and bus coverage as needed.
