  • The Utilization of Machine Learning Technologies in Predicting Relapse: Identifying Risk Factors and Implementing Intervention Before Drug Use Occurs

Invited and enrolled participants at the WVU Medicine Center for Hope and  Healing. Managed participant enrollment using REDCap, the RNI Health App, and shared team spreadsheets. Shadowed consent and study process for behavioral and fMRI sessions.  Assisted in collecting cues for testing. 


WVU Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry

  • Impact of Neurocognitive Deficits in Opioid Treatment (InsideOut) Study ■ Invite and enroll participants with an opioid use disorder into study.

Reviewed literature, tracked participants via REDCap surveys, facilitated the  NIH toolbox for cognitive measures, provide records of test scores to principal investigators, ensured participants are paid for their participation,  and coordinated with patients for their 28-day and 90-day interviews.


Project TRAIN! 

  • A team at West Virginia University coordinated a statewide survey to measure educators’ experience with the opioid crisis during Fall 2018 and Spring 2019. The Project TRAIN! The team developed collaborative training modules to support teachers and their students. I served as a point of contact for statewide surveys completed by early childhood educators, designed and distributed requests for survey responses, and completed a literature review for publication support.


Project AWARE  Advancing Wellness and Resiliency in Education (AWARE)

  • Provided support to the West Virginia Prevention Research Center’s team to assist in evaluating Project AWARE for long term goals such as infrastructure needs and sustainability in addressing students’ mental health needs.


Face Mask Adherence Study with Center of Disease Control

  • Gathered observational data of WVU students wearing face masks on campus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Data was collected to further understand student behavior regarding compliance with the mandatory face masks in addition to estimating the percentage of people wearing masks, wearing them correctly, and type of mask.


MASCUP-WVU Mask Adherence Surveillance at Colleges and Universities Project

  • Gathered observational data of WVU students wearing face masks on campus. Data was used to estimate the percentage of people wearing masks, wearing them correctly, type of mask and presence of double masking.


West Virginia Prevention Research Center 

  • Supported faculty and community stakeholders assessing youth mental health needs in Greenbrier County, provided youth mental health education resources in Wheeling, West Virginia, Project AWARE, COVID supplement research and consulted with John Hopkins to develop a youth advisory board.
