i worked for electric boat in groton for 8 years and i loved it
i was a stay at home mom at first but then got excited to go back to work at eb is where i chose to start. the company is great and the people are what i miss the most in groton but our life took into a new journey which led us to move to Florida which St Mary's is close so hoping i can get back into building subs it is what i enjoy.
I went into the carpenter dept where i built dead man stairs and made new chain ways. I also put in acousta fab and sound damp tiles inside and outside the boats I worked on 688 and Virginia class subs. I have applied sound damp tiles to the outside of the boats. I am knowledgeable in TGIs and blue prints with prior knowledge in schematic sheets. I also worked in our shop where we engineered the tiles and cleaned them and measured them for shipping to virginia. i have done sign offs of orders for all the new columbia class 800 boats as well.
I was a painter, my first class of boat was the 688 class. I worked on 688 class and virginia class subs I painted hangers, bulkheads cleaned out bilge's, also worked with TGIs and schematic sheets I have worked inside tanks and torpedo tubes with also working I have painted also worked in the battery compartments, the snake pits I know my way around a sub. I also worked on the surface as well painting and cleaning topside, I have mixed paints and worked with all types of chemicals. I have worked in the shops as well.
