In Summary:
Since 1996, I have worked with a variety of students with special needs. First as an educator and then as a diagnostician. Working within the school setting has helped me communicate with others to help facilitate a student's individual needs within the classroom setting. I have realized that it is very important to have data driven strategies to help complete an appropriate IEP. This includes a variety of formal and informal assessments, collaboration with related services personnel, and keeping communication open with parents and teachers. In order to help students achieve improved academic and functional skills, it is necessary to have an appropriate IEP that is developed with collaborative efforts.
Assessed students who were currently struggling with their academic and/or functional performance.
Assisted with multi-disciplinary assessments to help determine a student's area/s of eligibility.
Participated in ARD/IEP meetings to help determine the most appropriate services to help a student's individualized needs.
Worked closely with both general ed and special education personnel to help enhance their student's academic and functional performance.
