As a New Home Sales Counselor, I actively greeted and showed prospective clients the Model Home as well as homes under construction and pointed out standard as well as upgraded options. I provided pricing information, available homesites for their Dream Home and how we were going to fulfill their desired New Home goals within their budget. I prepared contracts and presented legal documents to my clients and prepared them and helped them sell their existing homes. I was with them at the design center choosing their interior choice's and with them on Closing Day at The Title Company to make sure there were no hiccups and then to give them their keys to their New Home, This was also a fun and fulfilling job.
This job was demanding of self control and enjoying all different kinds of people.
I had to go sell myself to local businesses, have them purchase from me advertising specialty items to give away to new families moving into the Katy community. I also brought all moving information for them in case they needed it, rice recipes for moving into rice country and voter registration cards. I showed up at homes where i had secured information from local realtors and had a basket on my arm full of goodies and information. I was a walking advertisement bearing gifts - such fun! I provided my businesses with information given me by the homeowners and charged them per visit this was my first SALES job.
This was a family owned small company - I did everything except leave the office and sell. I answered all phone calls, took telephone orders, packaged orders to be delivered. I was responsible for all taxes being paid on time, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger and paying the owners personal bills.
I did everything - Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger which I took to our accountant quarterly, All secretarial including filing liens and going to small claims court, Daily cash in and out of the cash register as we were a retail store also. I did payroll weekly and dispatches the plumbers and the HVAC service techs. I was Manager in the absence of the owner. When I left this company i trained the owners wife to do many of my day to day duties.
