Beverly Austin

Teach 7th and 8th grade Civics and US History. Push in for 2 ELA classes, where I am responsible for the accommodations of the ESE students. I work hand in hand with the classroom teacher to support the entire class. I am responsible for a caseload of 19 IEPs, which also include progress monitoring throughout the year for those students. I am a mentor for a beginning teacher, and I coordinate the summer school program, as well as course recovery for those students in need of additional support.

As Literacy Coach, I was involved in the presentation of all assessment data to the staff, conducting literacy based trainings. I helped teachers within their classrooms implement differing strategies to help with overall reading and comprehension. I worked with students one on one and in small groups for intervention. I assisted and mentored all Reading teachers in the implementation of several new, district reading programs for the Intensive Reading program. I served on several committees with administration to help with the overall literacy progress of our school.

Taught ESE classes, both self contained and resource in Social Studies and Language Arts. I communicated with parents concerning the progress of their children and any difficulties. Managed a caseload of 25 IEP which included continuous progress monitoring. Worked hand in hand with teachers within a team setting to ensure all students were successful
