Seeking an entry-level position in the field of cybersecurity to apply theoretical knowledge and gain practical experience while contributing to an organization's information security initiatives.
In my final networking class, we worked on a project to merge three medical offices' networks into one secure system to meet HIPAA regulations and avoid fines. The existing network had various connectivity issues, and we had six weeks to fix it. As a Network Engineer, I set up and secured office networks to ensure smooth operations. I used firewalls and other tools to protect data and comply with HIPAA and FERPA regulations. I fixed technical issues like IP conflicts and DHCP problems to maintain network stability. Working closely with my team, I improved communication and made adjustments to enhance network performance. I also helped create presentations that documented our work and ensured regulatory compliance. Overall, I contributed to building a secure and reliable network for the office.
