Accomplishments

  • Attended NHSA's Winter Leadership Institute in Washington D.C
  • As a member of AZHSA ECD Committee, I participated in planning the first PD day and Screening of the Black Boys Film for Head Start staff.
  • Collaborated with a team of 4 colleagues in the development of a Wellness Support team. We worked together to create a virtual Wellness community for Maricopa County's EED staff during the covid-19 pandemic. We provided support, a safe space and different modalities of self-care that staff can implement and use on a daily basis. This resulted in the participation of over 50 staff members.
  • Member of Maricopa County's Human Services Department DEI workgroup. I along with a team member created and launched HSD's first ever book club in March 2022. This resulted in having 10-15 colleagues participate and engaging in conversations around topics of diversity, equity, inclusion and racism. Since then, I have co-hosted 3 more bookclubs.
  • Participated in a Congressional Hearing on September 2022 with Representative Paul Gosar on behalf of Head Start
