In 2020, after a whirlwind of changes, I ended up making the decision to move back to my hometown of Kilauea, Kauai during the pandemic and was offered an essential working position at Healthy Hut. I was part of a wonderful work ohana and workplace that still is such an important part of the north shore community that I grew up in. At Healthy Hut became part of the purchasing team that provides local, organic produce and health conscious products. A few of my duties and responsibilities include:

  • Creating purchase orders, looking for promotions and discounts from vendors, mapping out sales, tracking orders and scheduling deliveries.
  • Adjusting orders to meet the supply and demand for products in my department.
  • Meeting regularly with local vendors and maintaining a excellent professional relationship with them while promoting their products.
  • Researching new products to bring in to the store.
