Service trip offered by WCC as an alternative spring break. I was selected to go to Selma, Alabama, and assist local communities and learn firsthand about the city’s civil rights history, including meeting activists who worked alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Presentations & Conferences

  • Attended the Achieving the Dream 2025 Conference in Philadelphia (group of 7 students representing WCC).

National conference focused on improving student success and equity in higher education, particularly at community colleges. I got to attend seminars and learn from other students, faculty, administrators, and education leaders on how to increasing access, retention, and graduation rates for diverse student populations.

  • Model for WCC’s Student Annual Fashion Show.

Modeled at Westchester Community College’s Annual Student Fashion Show, representing the student body, more specifically my brazilian heritage and ethnicity by modeling for a brazilian designer, and supporting campus arts and community events.
