Distinguished Graduate of Air Force Officer’s Orientation Course, setting high standards for
officer ship. Deployed as part of the advance team to the combat readiness training center. Organized
Bible studies for all denominations—satisfying the spiritual and personnel needs of deployed
personnel.
Superior senior pastor, administrator and officer. Worship attendance increase 35% and
offering increased 50%. Inspirationally taught 12-week new-Christian class—greatly improving focus
and dedication of their faith. Directed three youth retreats attracting over 150 youth; youth ministry
attendance increased 40 %. Led the Youth Group project “World Vision” in raising $1600 for starving
children of the world. Instituted “Reverse Offering” food collection program reaping over 500 pounds
of food in one month.
Led two Gospel Music Workshops, and fall revival with over 900 attending the events. Men’s
group doubled in size, with over 100 motivated to attend weekend retreat 300 miles away. Pioneered
marriage seminar attracting 75 enriched, mended and renewed relationships. Outreach and pastoral
care to Spokane Veteran Hospital Hospice Unit, Regency Adult Care Nursing Home, and Excelsior
Women’s Shelter. Protestant and community outreach ministries posted record attendance.
Intervened in four suicidal cases—all individual accepted counsel, improved condition and
return operation mission. Provided comforting pastoral care to family and unit members of two
suicides, less than two weeks apart. Help members make sense of tragedy.
Monumental humanitarian effort to calm and minister to the 5,000 flood victims sheltered at
Grand Forks ND. Organized base-wide dorm residents’ dinner—improved junior enlisted morale.
Thanksgiving Dorm Dinner for nearly 300 people. Deployed twice on extremely short notice trips
leaving behind well-run parish with no glitches. Received front-page newspaper coverage for various
projects. Superb communicator, keynote speaker for the City of Spokane Reconciliation Sunday. Won
Progressive National Baptist Convention, Inc, “Chaplain of the Year” award.
