Men’s group doubled in size, with over 100 motivated to attend weekend retreat 300 miles away. Pioneered marriage seminar attracting 75 enriched, mended and renewed relationships. Outreach and pastoral care to Spokane Veteran Hospital Hospice Unit, Regency Adult Care Nursing Home, and Excelsior Women’s Shelter. Protestant and community outreach ministries posted record attendance. Intervened in four suicidal cases—all individual accepted counsel, improved condition and return operation mission. Provided comforting pastoral care to family and unit members of two suicides, less than two weeks apart. Help members make sense of tragedy. Monumental humanitarian effort to calm and minister to the 5,000 flood victims sheltered at Grand Forks ND. Organized base-wide dorm residents’ dinner—improved junior enlisted morale. Thanksgiving Dorm Dinner for nearly 300 people. Deployed twice on extremely short notice trips leaving behind well-run parish with no glitches. Received front-page newspaper coverage for various projects. Superb communicator, keynote speaker for the City of Spokane Reconciliation Sunday.
